Create LSAC Account
Make note of LSAC account number, username and password.
Give your pre-law advisor access to your information.
Registration
Register for the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) – $222
Register for the Credential Assembly Service (CAS) – $200
Transcripts
Send transcripts from all undergraduate institutions attended to LSAC.
Recommendations
Request letters of recommendation and designate which schools get which letters.
Writing
Write personal statements, optional essays and any necessary addenda:
- Grade or LSAT addendum if necessary
- Addendum explaining academic probation or legal infractions
Compile resume.
Application
Complete applications on LSAC website. Upload essays and resume.
Law School Reports
After submitting applications, buy the necessary number of Law School Reports (one for each law school application) from LSAC – $45 for each school.
