Scholarships
Applying for scholarships is a significant step in minimizing the cost of law school. Scholarships can provide financial assistance to help cover the cost of tuition, books, and living expenses.
The Anthony Champagne Opportunity Fund for Pre-Law Students offers scholarships and law school application subsidies for students. In addition to applying to UT Dallas pre-law scholarships and subsidies, students should continue to search and apply for outside pre-law scholarships. By applying for scholarships, students can reduce the student loan debt they will need to take on. The Pre-Law Advising Center encourages students to research and apply for scholarships as early as possible to maximize their financial aid chances.
Champagne Endowment Law School Application Subsidy
The Champagne Endowment, Law School Application Subsidy, is made possible by generous contributions from former Pre-Law Advising Center Director Anthony Champagne.
This subsidy is designed to provide a direct payment to the Law School Admissions Council for fees such as Credential Assembly Service (CAS) Subscription, a one-time fee of $200, and CAS Reports, $45 for each law school to which you are applying. Students who have already paid the CAS subscription fee are still eligible to receive funding for CAS Law School Reports. Selections will be made based on overall criteria and not any single application item.

Student Testimonials
Arub Ahmad, Class of 2023
“The Champagne Endowment Law School Application Subsidy has greatly enhanced my law school admissions process. The cost associated with LSAT preparation materials, LSAT registration, CAS fees, and application fees can quickly add up. This subsidy has enabled me to apply to additional target and reach schools that I otherwise would not have been able to justify.”
Insha Mitha, Class of 2022
“I was also fortunate enough to receive the Champagne Endowment Law School Application Subsidy, which significantly reduced the cost of my law school application and allowed me to focus on other important aspects of the process. I would highly recommend pre-law students to start researching and taking advantage of subsidies, scholarships, and grants early on, as it can greatly minimize the cost of applying to law school.”
Sabrina Tsegai, Class of 2023
“I was taking on more hours at my job to cover application fees while also juggling LSAT studying, applications, and full-time graduate courses. Receiving the subsidy released the weight off my shoulders and let me work less hours and concentrate more on my other responsibilities. My biggest piece of advice would be to apply to LSAC’s fee waiver program. If you don’t qualify for that, reach out to law schools’ financial aid offices and express interest, and see if you’re able to receive a fee waiver that way.”
